IIM Ahmedabad's November Placements Go Hybrid—Exciting Times Ahead
Campus News
The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) is set to launch its placement season in November for the Postgraduate Programme (PGP), adopting a hybrid model to enhance flexibility. This approach allows companies to conduct interviews on campus or online, depending on their preferences.
Following the completion of Cluster 3, the institute will implement a rolling process if necessary, ensuring that all candidates have ample opportunities to secure positions.
Additionally, the Summer Internship Recruitment Process for the 2024-25 PGP-FABM program will commence in November, aligning with the schedule of the PGP program. Here's a quick look at the timeline:
Cluster 1: 12th November
Cluster 2: 15th November
Cluster 3: 18th November
In a significant policy shift, IIM Ahmedabad has announced plans to implement reservation in PhD admissions starting in 2025. This decision addresses a long-standing request from the Global IIM Alumni Network. A clause in the online applications for doctoral programs, released last weekend, states, "Government of India guidelines for reservation are followed during admission." The application window opened on 19th September and will remain open until 20th January.
IIM Ahmedabad is the last of the 20 Indian Institutes of Management to adopt this reservation policy. In 2021, Anil Wagde, a Global IIM Alumni Network member, petitioned the Gujarat High Court to challenge the lack of reservation in IIM-A's PhD programs.
This development marks a pivotal moment in the institute's history, ensuring a more inclusive admission process for future doctoral candidates.
