New MBA Agribusiness Management program Launch by IGNOU

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) School of Agriculture recently launched a Master of Business Administration (Agribusiness Management) program to prepare competent business professionals to promote agricultural businesses and farmers' economies.

To manage agricultural enterprises and agro-based sectors profitably, this new curriculum aims to create business experts. The curriculum lasts two years and can be completed in up to four years. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in any stream can apply for the MBA Agribusiness Management program.  

The program's primary goals are to develop competent business professionals in agricultural, food, rural, and related sectors and to encourage startups and entrepreneurship among farmers, intermediates, and merchants in the agri-business chain. 

The program is specifically designed to empower professionals with a comprehensive set of managerial abilities and competence in managing the technological-commercial aspects of agribusiness. It equips them with the knowledge necessary to effectively handle national development objectives, agricultural policies, and global commerce, ensuring their success in the field of agribusiness management.

Description

Master of Business Administration (Agribusiness Management), MBA ABM programme fosters managerial skills and provides need-based education to enhance efficiency and increase livelihood security. The programme aims to enhance profitability in agriculture and allied sectors and improve the socio-economic conditions of stakeholders by inculcating business management practices. 

Programme objectives:

  • To generate competent business professionals in agriculture, food, rural, and allied sectors.
     
  • To encourage startups and entrepreneurship among farmers, intermediaries and traders in the agri-business chain.
     
  • To equip business professionals with specific managerial skills.
     
  • To develop expertise in the management of techno-commercial aspects of agribusiness.
     
  • To impart knowledge and expertise to agri-business managers to deal effectively with national development plans, agricultural policies and global trade.

Eligibility

Passed Bachelor Degree of minimum 3 years duration with at least 50% marks (45% in case of reserved categories)

Fee Structure

Rs. 15500/- per semester for 1st, 2nd and 4th semesters
Rs.17500/- for 3rd semester (3rd semester has an 8 credit project)

Alert! IGNOU Admission 2024 Deadline Extended

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the deadline for new admission to the July 2024 academic year. Students planning to apply for the July 2024 session of online distance learning (ODL) and online programs will now have another registration deadline. The revised deadline is 15th October 2024. Previously, the registration deadline for the ODL and online programmes was 30th September 2024.

KEAM 3rd Round Counselling Final Allotment

The Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) 2024 Round 3 seat allotment results were announced by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE) Kerala on 6th of September 2024. Candidates who have registered for the counselling process can access the results by logging into the official website i.e, https://cee.kerala.gov.in/ with their application number and password.

DU NCWEB 3rd Round Admission Cutoff Released

The University of Delhi's Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board (DU NCWEB) has announced the third cutoff list for B.A and B.Com courses.
