The Academic for Action and Development Delhi Teachers' Association (AADTA) and Delhi University Executive Council members have written to Delhi education minister Atishi, emphasising the financial difficulties encountered by the city's 12 DU colleges.

The allocated fund for these universities was increased threefold, to Rs 400 crore, in 2023-24, from Rs 132 crore in 2014-15. "The intermittent delay in the release of funds from the twelve Delhi Govt (100% funded) should not be allowed to undermine this," the teachers' union urged.
On June 28, the education minister announced the distribution of Rs 100 crore as the second quarterly award and stated that teachers should not be penalised for management flaws. However, the money has not reached the teachers two months after the announcement.

Aside from the ''agonising' delays, the teachers' union also raised concerns about delayed salaries, pending arrears for advancement, and medical expenditures.
