Read More Kashmir Government Polytechnic came into existence in the year 1958 and was temporarily functioning in the barracks of Naseem Bagh, Kashmir University campus, initially training in three disciplines viz. Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. In the year 1962, the institute was shifted to the present campus at Gogjibagh. The institute was temporarily closed in the year 1969-70 due to some reasons and was later revived in the year 1972. The discipline of automobile engineering was added on the revival of the institute. In the year 1986, Electronics & Communication and two Post Diploma courses viz, Post Diploma in Rural Technology & Management and Post Diploma in Computer Science were also introduced.
