The polytechnic was set up under the World Bank assisted "Third Technician Education Project" of MHRD,Govt. of India. The state Govt. intends the polytechnic to be a model institute with the latest technologies and facilities as ?Centre of Excellence?. The establishment of the polytechnic is designed to address the need for employable skills to be imbibed among the youth of the state.
