A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences is recognized by the Dental Council of India and the Malaysian Dental Council. It is an affiliate of Okayama University Dental School, Japan and an academic mentor to Oman Dental College Sultanate of Oman. In association with the Smile Train Organization, USA and Cleft Children International, Switzerland, the institution has the unique distinction of being at the forefront of treatment & research in cleft lip and palate & other craniofacial anomalies in the country. The Institution also has MoUs with Radboud University, The Netherlands and the Universitede Paul Sabatier, France for faculty and student exchanges.

With a 425-chair dental teaching hospital with comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic & rehabilitation services, A B Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences offers the students all the required infrastructure for undergraduate and postgraduate training in dentistry. It also gives them the required exposure to facilities like Advanced Dental Imaging (CBCT), CAD CAM Systems, Operating Microscope, Intra Oral Scanner, Dental Implants, Cleft-lip & Palate repair etc.
