Anu Singh Lather, the vice chancellor of the state-run Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University Delhi (also known as AUD), announced on Monday that starting in the upcoming academic year, professionals, practitioners, and other members of society will be able to take one or two courses per semester without having to enrol in any degree programmes.
By enrolling in one or two courses per semester offered by the schools of AUD, the Competence Enhancement Scheme seeks to give people from various backgrounds the chance to increase their knowledge and abilities.
The university claimed that 14 of its institutions will be offering up to 143 courses as part of the CES. The price for a course might be as low as Rs 3,000 for a 2-credit course and as much as Rs 9,000 for a 4-credit course. The majority of 4-credit courses cost Rs 8,000.
According to the institution's brochure, the goal of this programme is to "open up existing courses at the university to professionals, practitioners, and members of society to enable them to (re)join higher education and revisit or explore their areas of interest.". The universities' schools will provide two to eight-credit courses with a focus on generic skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, academic writing, research skills, IT software training, and the like, as well as specialized courses in particular knowledge areas of the universities.
