NMC Revises CBME Curriculum Guideline; Passing Marks Dropped To 40%
Exam News
Under the Competency-Based Medical Education Regulation 2023 (CBME 2023) guidelines, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has lowered the passing mark to 40%.
According to the Competency-Based Medical Education Regulation 2023 (CBME 2023) guidelines, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has lowered the passing mark to 40% for subjects containing two MBBS curriculum papers. CBME guidelines for 2023 were notified on August 1. The regulations include requirements for curriculum, MBBS admission, the academic calendar, and other details. The revised guidelines say, "In subjects that have two papers, the learner must secure a minimum of 40 per cent of marks in aggregate (both papers together) to pass in said subjects." The CBME guidelines released last month state that candidates must achieve a minimum of 50% aggregate marks to pass subjects with two papers. However, the qualifying marks for passing have been lowered to 40%.
