More than 1 crore students register for Academic Bank of Credits: UGC

According to the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Academic Bank of Credits has more than 1 crore registered students. As per the official website, a total of 101.58 lacs ABC IDs have been created.
Calling it a remarkable milestone M Jagadesh Kumar, UCG chief, said, “We have achieved a remarkable milestone with over 1 Cr. student registrations in ABC, marking a significant stride towards an adaptable & flexible credit system in India”.
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 included the introduction of the Academic Bank of Credits. The ABC is a virtual/digital repository that houses the detailed credit records of individual students as they advance through their academic careers. This state-of-the-art technology gives students easy access to their accounts and provides a wide range of options when it comes to transferring between other institutions or universities.
