MBBS Students Are Perplexed By The New Qualifying Exam And Advise That They Should "Try Next Year”
Education News
According to authoritative sources, the Union Health Ministry will extend the MBBS internship deadline to June 30, with an official announcement coming soon. At the moment, the deadline for applicants to complete their necessary one-year internship is March 31, 2023.
The Indian Medical Association, student unions, prospective candidates, and state officials all petitioned the ministry to extend the eligibility deadline to June 30, 2023. According to sources, students and their families are now requesting that if the MBBS internship completion date is delayed, the date of the NEET PG test be postponed as well. The NEET PG entrance test 2023 is currently set for March 5.
The Federation of Resident Doctors' Association (FORDA) has also requested an extension of the MBBS internship cut-off date, claiming that the current decision has far-reaching effects and has left many students with grim prospects.
"This unfortunate decision has rendered a majority of current interns across the country ineligible, thereby wiping out the competition and leaving a multitude of others in a state of uncertainty," FORDA said to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya in a letter.
FORDA also stated that this unanticipated implementation has the potential to cause a slew of mental anguish and unrest among students who are already discomposed and frayed by the considerable delays and problems that plague medical education in India.
