IIT Madras organising Demo Day for JEE Aspirants

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) will host a 'Demo Day' on its campus on June 15th and 16th, 2024. During this event, JEE 2024 candidates can tour the campus and understand what being an IIT student is like. This is the only such opportunity for aspirants from all the top IITs. This also allows one to communicate with current students, professors, and alums while receiving accurate and up-to-date information directly from the source. Students can also inquire about recent developments, such as establishing the B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics program provided by IIT Madras' newest department, The Wadhwani School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.

The goal is to raise awareness of IIT Madras's distinguishing traits, which have made it the top-ranked engineering institution in the country for eight consecutive years—from 2016 to 2023—according to the NIRF rankings.

Students who cannot travel to IIT Madras can participate in an online session on June 17, 2024. Prof. V. Kamakoti, the Director, other staff, and alumni will answer questions on academic and non-academic life on campus. 

Aspirants in and near Bengaluru and Hyderabad can also attend satellite Demo Day events in SD Auditorium, IISc in Bengaluru on June 11, 2024, and T-Hub in Hyderabad on June 12, 2024. Senior faculty, current students, and alumni will also attend these activities.

Welcoming JEE Candidates to participate in these events, Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, said, “This is a crucial juncture for the Young children to decide their career path and they must make an informed decision. Through this event IITM provides an opportunity for the young children to visit our campus and get to know about various engineering and other disciplines before making a choice.”

The Demo Day is part of the AskIITM initiative, designed and run by alumni and students. In addition to these events, on the website askiitm.com, aspirants can ask questions about courses, faculty, campus life, placements and more. A team of alumni and student volunteers will answer these. Aspirants can also browse through existing answers.
