IIT Delhi & Queensland University offer joint PhD programme
Education News
IIT Delhi, in collaboration with the University of Queensland (UQ), has launched a joint PhD programme through the UQ-IITD Academy of Research (UQIDAR), providing a unique opportunity for scholars all over the world.
The UQIDAR initiative is accepting applications from aspiring scholars across a variety of fields until March 15, 2023. This joint PhD programme aims to provide academic excellence and global exposure to a significant number of students.
The programme offers fellowships, relocation assistance, and research travel awards. It also allows students to take advantage of both universities' academic facilities, according to IIT-Delhi.
Eligibility
While it is not required that all candidates have a valid GATE, GRE, NET, or CSIR score (or results from any competitive admission examination), successful applicants are expected to have a high score in any of these exams to be competitive.
Candidates without a valid GATE score or CSIR/UGC/DBT award may be considered for admission to the joint PhD course if they have at least two years of professional work experience in place of a GATE score and meet all other eligibility standards, according to the institute.
Applicants may be considered to meet the Academy's English language competence standards if they have finished a bachelor's or master's degree programme or have evidence of at least two years of full-time study from an institution approved by the Academy, where:
— English was the medium of instruction.
— The language of evaluation was English; and
— The final year of study was completed during the last five years.
To be considered for English language proficiency based on prior studies, applicants must provide evidence that the medium of instruction and assessment was in English, such as an academic transcript or an official letter (on letterhead with the date) from the institution confirming this.
