Confusion Over KCET 2023 Results As Some Students Were Not Allotted Rankings
Education News
Soon after the KCET results were revealed on Thursday, confusion reigned at the Karnataka Examination Authority. Students and parents gathered at KEA to protest the fact that the qualifying examination (class 12) scores were not taken into account for the ranking. As a result, a large number of students did not obtain their ratings.
Despite uploading the papers throughout the application procedure, the qualifying examination marks were not considered for the ranking. Some students claimed that ranks were not assigned to them since they did not manually enter their QE marks but instead posted the mark sheet as an attachment.
However, a KEA representative emphasised that if the individual supplied the incorrect student number during the application procedure, the QE marks would not have been accepted. Candidates for CBSE and ICSE should manually enter the QE marks rather than attaching the mark sheet as a PDF attachment.
In addition, the KEA will post a new URL in the afternoon enabling candidates to re-enter their QE scores. Following that, the rankings will be announced within the next two days. According to a KEA official, the ranks are unlikely to be rearranged as a result of ranking allocation. For example, if a candidate has won the 100th rank, a candidate who will be granted the new rank after resubmitting the documents will be assigned the rank 100(A).
