Indian teachers to boost Bhutan's STEM Education

India and Bhutan have decided to strengthen their educational collaboration. The collaboration intends to promote STEM teaching in Bhutan through the contributions of Indian instructors.
According to ANI, India and Bhutan have agreed to strengthen their people-to-people contacts. The decision was made during the recent visit of Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and his wife, Tashi Doma. Mr Tobgay was in India from March 14 to 18 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay's first foreign trip since taking office in January 2024.
Aside from education, the countries agreed to expand constructive collaboration in new and developing fields such as digital technology, start-ups, and STEM.
Bhutanese officials thanked the Indian government for its assistance in developing Bhutan's sports infrastructure. The two countries acknowledged and appreciated their partnership in the space technology sector, which included recent initiatives such as the Indian Space Research Organisation's technical capacity-building on remote sensing technology for the Royal Government of Bhutan. Moreover, they welcomed the development of the Joint Plan of Action on Space Cooperation.
