Assam to Use Digital Classes to Reduce School Dropout Rates

On Thursday, Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu reaffirmed the state government's commitment to integrate digital teachings with conventional physical teaching in schools. This effort intends to modernise the school system, improve learning experiences, and guarantee that students can access in-person and online educational materials.
The government plans to harness the power of modern technology and intelligent classrooms to revolutionise education. This innovative approach aims to provide a more comprehensive and accessible education to all children in Assam.
He claimed the Education Department's computerised attendance system will be used to reduce school dropout rates. Assam's schools reopened on Thursday following a month-long summer holiday.
Minister Pegu demonstrated his hands-on approach and engaged in online communication with instructors from over 7,779 schools. He expressed his best wishes for the upcoming academic session and reiterated the department's commitment to enhancing digital education in schools.
"We have opted to focus on educating through the digital form. He noted that most of Assam's schools have intelligent classrooms and seamless internet access
Meanwhile, Pegu emphasised the state administration's proactive role in tackling school dropout rates. He stated that they have been actively exploring strategies to reduce these rates.
"We have implemented a computerised attendance system for students and school instructors. Students' attendance is constantly checked, and appropriate efforts will be made to boost turnout. The education minister stated that increasing attendance will immediately reduce school dropout rates.
