Sonal Mansingh Appointed Visiting Faculty Of IIT-Kharagpur

An official announcement on Monday announced the appointment of renowned dancer Sonal Mansingh as a visiting faculty member at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
IIT Kharagpur has welcomed Padma Vibhushan recipient Sonal Mansingh as a distinguished visiting faculty member under the auspices of National Education Policy 2020 (NEP '20), which unites various disciplines in a curriculum to create a holistic learning experience, according to a statement released by the institute.
It stated that Mansingh is the founder of the Centre for Classical Indian Dance and a member of the Rajya Sabha. In collaboration with the Academy of Classical and Folk Arts (ACFA) and the Centre of Excellence for Indian Knowledge System (CoEIKS), she will teach students and faculty members "and the campus community" dance forms and demonstrations for three years at IIT Kharagpur.
Her advice and suggestions would be helpful in creating and implementing a special Indian classical dance education plan.
According to the statement, she has performed, lectured, and led workshops in ninety countries worldwide. She was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1992 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2003. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also nominated her as one of the NAVARATNAs for the Swachh Bharat Mission.
