IIM Ahmedabad Summer Placements: 394 Students Secure Offers, Consulting Sector Dominates

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad completed its summer placement process for the MBA Class of 2026 on 18th November, 2024. Despite challenging market conditions, 394 students secured placements across various sectors, with 159 companies participating, including 51 new recruiters.
This year saw a significant increase in the number of new companies, rising from 12 in 2023 to 51 in 2024. New participants included major firms like BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, EY Parthenon Singapore, Zydus Wellness, and Zaggle.
The placement process was organized into three clusters, with 394 students receiving offers across more than 25 industry categories. Additionally, 106 students made over 200 'dream applications', showing the institute's focus on aligning student goals with the right career opportunities.
Consulting remained the most popular domain, making up 38% of the total placements. Top firms like Boston Consulting Group (22 offers), McKinsey & Company (15 offers), and Bain & Company (14 offers) were the leading recruiters. The Investment Banking and Markets sector also saw strong participation, with Goldman Sachs making 11 offers and HSBC 6.
Hindustan Unilever made seven offers in the Consumer Goods and Durables sector, while Amazon and Mahindra led the conglomerate's group with eight providers each. In the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector, Sun Pharmaceuticals led with six offers, followed by Emcure Pharmaceuticals with 4.
Tata Consultancy Services was the top recruiter in the specialized consulting and enterprise technology areas, with nine offers, followed by Adobe (5 offers) and Microsoft (4 offers).
Additionally, five students chose to forgo placements to pursue entrepreneurial ventures under the IIMAvericks Fellowship, which offers mentorship and financial support for up to two years.
