St. Joseph's College for Women is a dream realization of the long-cherished desire of thousands of people in and around Gorakhpur city, U.P. It is located in the heart of the city close to the Railway station and near to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur. The Catholic Diocese of Gorakhpur is known for its excellent services to the Nation in the field of education especially in the Eastern part of U.P. known as purvanchal. It has a number of secondary schools, High schools and higher secondary schools and inter colleges to train and educate its boys and girls as ideal citizens of our country and true children of God, but it has no college for Higher studies. Realizing this urgent need of the time, Rt. Rev. Dr. Dominic Kokkat CST, the then Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Gorakhpur has decided to establish a women's college in his own campus for their Emancipation and Empowerment. Their Integrated Development is the objective of this Education project.
