In order to provide skill-based Bachelor's degree programmes to Agniveers, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has signed MoUs with the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force. The application process is currently open at ignou.ac.in, the official website.

Beginning on August 1, registration for these courses is now open.
Under this partnership, the varsity is offering five courses:

BAAS: Bachelor of Arts (Applied Skills)

BAASTM: Bachelor of Arts (Applied Skills) Tourism Management

BAASMSME: Bachelor of Arts (Applied Skills) MSME

BCOMAS (Bachelor of Commerce (Applied Skills)

BSCAS: Bachelor of Science (Applied Skills)

These programmes consist of 120 credits, out of which courses worth 60 credits are offered by IGNOU, while the remaining 60 credits are offered as in-service skill education by the Armed Forces.

The National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), the organisation in charge of regulating skill education, has given its approval to the skill courses that the Armed Forces are now offering. Additionally, these programmes follow NEP 2020's guidelines for combining higher education with skill development.
