JEE (Joint Entrance Examination):
The NTA (National Testing Agency) conducts the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) annually for students wishing to pursue engineering. The nationwide examination has the following eligibility criteria:
- The candidate should have completed his/her class 12th or equivalent examination with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects with at least 75% marks (for SC/ST and PWD candidates, the percentage may differ).
- The JEE Main 2024 exam does not have an age limit. Candidates who passed the 12th (Intermediate) or equivalent examination in the year 2020, and 2021 or are appearing in 2024 may apply.
KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test):
As part of the admission process for various undergraduate engineering courses, KEA (Karnataka Examination Authority) organises an online computer-based examination called KCET. To be eligible for the exam, students must fulfil the mentioned criteria,
- Candidates must be a citizen of India.
- Students must have passed their class 12/PUC examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, and Electronics/ Computer Science as optional subjects
- English is a mandatory subject as one of the languages of study.
COMEDK (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental College of Karnataka)
For admission to undergraduate courses, COMEDK is a state-wide, online computer-based examination administered annually by Karnataka. To sit in exams, students shall fulfil the below-mentioned criteria:
- Applicants must have completed the 2nd PUC/10+2 or an equivalent examination from an institution or board recognised by the state or central government.
- Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with English as a compulsory subject are required in the last two years of study.
