Four Students Of Indian Descent Will Earn The First UH-Chevron Energy Fellowship in 2023

Four University of Houston students with Indian ancestry are among the eight recipients of the inaugural 2023 Chevron Graduate Energy Fellowship for their active participation in cutting-edge energy-related research. According to a news statement, the initiative, which is funded by Chevron, offers graduate students a one-year fellowship worth USD 12,000 that includes mentoring from faculty specialists and the chance to interact with Chevron subject matter experts.

Chevron is a worldwide energy company with a focus on oil and gas. The University of Houston (UH)-Chevron Energy Graduate Fellows have presented a wide spectrum of energy-related research, and their work focuses on scalable innovations with transformational influence on the energy industry, according to the statement.

Mohamad Sarhan, Erin Picton, Larkin Spires, and Kripa Adhikari were also recipients of the Fellowship. The chosen fellows will interact quarterly with Chevron topic matter experts and participate in educational and research opportunities planned by UH Energy all year.

According to the press release, they will submit quarterly progress reports and perhaps have the chance to write blogs and thought leadership articles about energy.
