The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has opened a preliminary investigation into the complaints of a candidate for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) who has challenged his NTA results in front of the Odisha High Court.

In response to the High Court's orders directing it to determine the "correctness" of Anshuman Kanungo's assertions, the CBI has opened a preliminary investigation. He claimed that he earned excellent grades in JEE Main 2022 based on an email from the NTA, but the NTA disagreed, stating that his marks were "very less."

According to Kanungo, there are over 100 examples nationwide where students have contested their JEE 2022 exam scores. The High Court had underlined that if the documents Kanungo supplied, downloaded from the website, are legitimate, he should be admitted to his preferred institution of the country, such as IIT or NIT.

The website informed him that his NTA score was 18.88 in respect of Session I and 33.1374067 in respect of Session II, whereas he had previously been informed that he had secured 98.8810816 when no notification letter for his eligibility for admission into top colleges or for JEE (Advanced) 2022 arrived.
