An Engineer From Chennai Receives The 2023 James Dyson Award (India)

Engineer Pravin Kumar, who lives in Chennai, has been named the 2023 James Dyson Award national winner for India. Kumar has been chosen for his invention Mouseware, a gadget that uses movement to help persons with upper limb problems.

With the use of this technology, people can easily engage with digital devices because they can control them with their heads. Pravin Kumar, the national winner, will get a prize of about Rs 5 Lakhs (£5,000) and represent India in the international stage, where Sir James Dyson will choose the final victors.

The national winner hopes to reuse his patented technology with the aid of the award money for diverse applications that call for gesture-based interaction. In order to help disabled individuals, he wants to take his idea to NGOs, special schools, hospitals, and rehab facilities.
