IIT-Madras Recognises Graduates Who Participated In The Chandrayaan-3 Mission

On Sunday, the campus hosted the event 'Over the Moon with Team Chandrayaan-3'. IIT Madras students, as well as those from other government institutions and colleges, engaged with ISRO's top scientists and engineers.

S Unnikrishnan Nair, one of those celebrated, earned his PhD in mechanical engineering from the Department of IIT Madras in 2011 and currently serves as the director of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), an ISRO facility. Chandrayaan-3's project director, P Veeramuthuvel, graduated with a PhD in mechanical engineering in 2016. IIT-M reported that S Somanath, the chairman of ISRO, is currently enrolled in IIT Madras' Department of Mechanical Engineering's PhD programme.
