IIT Madras And Ericsson Collaborate On Responsible AI Research

Ericsson and CeRAI inked a five-year contract to work together as a "Platinum Consortium Member" during the event hosted on the IIT Madras campus.

In accordance with the terms of the MoU, Ericsson Research will assist and take part in all research initiatives at CeRAI. IIT Madras has a virtual interdisciplinary research centre called the Centre for Responsible AI (CeRAI). According to CeRAI, it aspires to become a world-class research hub for Responsible AI, both fundamental and applied, with a direct bearing on the introduction of AI technologies into the Indian ecosystem.

According to the centre, it wants to do research in the fields of ethical and responsible AI and establish itself as the national authority for formulating standards and regulations that will increase the accountability, transparency, and responsibility of deployable AI models and systems.

Prof. Manu Santhanam, Dean (Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research), IIT Madras, who was the symposium's chief guest, stated that "AI research will generate the instruments for operating tomorrow's businesses. According to the press announcement, "IIT Madras strongly believes in effective translational work in partnership with the industry, and we are very glad to engage with Ericsson to perform cutting-edge R&D in this area.
