IIT Kanpur Launch online Masters degree in finance professionals

The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) today launched new eMasters programmes in climate finance, business finance, fintech, and quantitative finance. These curricula are intended to produce 'future-ready' finance professionals and meet the expanding demand for qualified personnel in the finance industry. IIT Kanpur eMasters applications for the July 2024 batch are open until March 31. Interested individuals should apply through the official website, emasters.iitk.ac.in/economics-and-finance-masters-degree.

The curriculum lasts between one and three years. Admission to these courses does not require a GATE score.

According to an IIT Kanpur announcement, the eMasters in Financial Technology and Management programme combines fintech and traditional finance to provide professionals with a thorough grasp of technology's impact on finance. 

According to the institute, the eMasters in quantitative finance and risk management focuses on enhancing risk management abilities via research and practical training, whilst the eMasters in corporate finance helps professionals improve in finance and economics, preparing them to make strategic decisions.

The eMasters programme in climate finance and sustainability aims to fulfil the growing need for carbon management and ESG competence by providing specific training in finance and environmental sustainability. 

The departments of management and Economic Sciences provide these courses. Students have access to live interactive weekend classes and self-paced study opportunities. 

The programmes would include a 60-credit curriculum targeted to the business, with credit transferable to higher education prospects, including MTech and PhD programmes at IIT Kanpur.
