IIT Gandhinagar Wins International Green University Award 2023 For Promoting Environmental Sustainability

The Green Mentors, USA, a non-governmental organisation with special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), is The International Green University Award 2023 has been given to the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar). the organisation that presents the prize. 

This week's 78th United Nations General Assembly session in New York City coincided with the 7th NYC Green School Conference held at Cornell University in the United States. 

According to a statement from IIT Gandhinagar, the International Green University Award recognises universities worldwide that have incorporated sustainability into their core values, operations, and academic programmes for community and student engagement. These universities must also have put into place sustainable practices such as energy-efficient infrastructure, renewable energy options, waste reduction and recycling programmes, and sustainable transportation initiatives.
