Kerala Unveils Centres of Excellence to Transform Higher Education and Research

The Kerala government will shortly open seven' Centres of Excellence' to improve the state's higher education system and encourage internationally recognised cutting-edge research. According to Minister R Bindhu, the ambitious 'Study in Kerala' plan intends to make the state an essential and appealing hub of higher education, particularly for international students.
Speaking at a news conference on Monday, she stated that the Higher Education Reformation Commission, which is responsible for overhauling the state's higher education sector, has recommended the establishment of centres of excellence in several sectors.
The Higher Education Minister announced that seven Centres for Excellence have been granted administrative approval in the first round. She said the proposed centres would be established in science and technology, social science, language, and culture. The goal is to improve the quality of higher education and support cutting-edge research that meets worldwide standards.
