IET introduces scholarship award for Indian engineering students

The Institution of Engineering and Technology has requested submissions for the ninth edition of the IET India Scholarship Award. IET will grant scholarships worth Rs 10 lakh to those pursuing higher education at AICTE or UGC-approved institutes. Students may apply for the scholarship on the official website, scholarships.theiet events.com, until May 31.

The IET will reveal the list of shortlisted candidates between June 26 and June 28. The IET scholarship 2024 exam will be held on July 3–5. Following this, regional rounds will be held, with the winners of the IET Scholarship Award 2024 being announced on September 2.

Students seeking the award must have completed all courses in a single attempt. They should have completed undergraduate degrees with at least 60% aggregate marks or a CGPA of at least 6.0 on a 10-point scale.

Applicants will be evaluated based on academic performance, extracurricular activities, a variety of outreach initiatives, and their capacity to devise innovative engineering solutions to social concerns. They will next be required to take an online science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) test as well as demonstrate technical knowledge. Students who are shortlisted will be required to propose their technology solution to a relevant societal challenge in the regional rounds.
