The campuses of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-D) in Jhajjar and Sonepat, Haryana, are being expanded. The project is being carried out in stages, according to Subhas Sarkar, Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, in a written statement during the winter session of Parliament.

Two facilities, the Central Research Facility (CRF) and the IIT Delhi Technopark (I-TEC), are currently operational on the IIT Delhi (Sonipat) campus. Sarkar further mentioned that a data center-based High Capacity Computing (HPC) facility for Artificial Intelligence (AI) is being built with assistance from the National Supercomputing Mission (NSM).

In addition, a new facility under the "Sophisticated Analytical & Technical Help Institutes (SATHI)" concept is being constructed next to CRF building in order to reinforce and enhance it. In August, Rangan Banerjee, the director of IIT Delhi, declared that the university will be establishing two new campuses in Jhajjar and Sonipat, in the state of Haryana. The Sonipat project will set you back Rs 59.73 crore in total. According to Banerjee, the Jhajjar site would house the nation's first-ever patient-specific drug development institute for cancer treatment.
