IIT Roorkee to Conduct GATE 2025

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee will host the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025. On July 1, IIT Roorkee unveiled the new GATE 2025 website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in 
GATE 2025 will be a computer-based test (CBT) administered by IISc Bengaluru and seven IITs (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board - GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.

The exam will last three hours and contain 30 test papers, including whole and sectional papers. The portions will be General Aptitude (GA) and the candidate's preferred topics. The candidate's chosen disciplines include MCQs, Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

Marking Scheme

Questions carry 1 mark or 2 marks

Negative Marking

For a wrong answer chosen in an MCQ, there will be negative marking.

For a 1-mark MCQ, 1/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.

For a 2-mark MCQ, 2/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.

There is no negative marking for wrong answer(s) to MSQ or NAT questions.

There is no partial marking in MSQ.
