IIM-Bangalore concludes placement; 516 students placed, median salary of Rs 32.5 lakh

The final placements for the PGP-BA and PGP 2024 programmes at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore saw 516 eligible students receive job offers from 163 companies. The placement week ended on February 7, 2024, with 503 students receiving placements, while an additional 13 students were placed in subsequent rolling placement processes.

Notably, a record-breaking 29 students received job offers from abroad, with Infosys Consulting leading with 7 offers, Strategy and Middle East with 6 offers, and Jindal Shadeed with 5 offers, among others. The majority of placements, totalling 487, were made in India, with a median annual income of Rs. 32.5 lakhs.

Professor Ganesh N Prabhu, Chairperson of Career Development Services at IIMB, thanked Accenture for its major contribution, which included 58 offers across three units: Global Networks, India Markets Unit, and Data & AI. Consulting firms were the leading recruiters, with 218 offers, followed by finance, banking, and investing firms, with 81. IT firms and e-commerce organisations each submitted 49 offers.

Furthermore, 36 bids were made by manufacturing and infrastructure corporations, 30 by conglomerates, and 28 by consumer products and retail companies. Furthermore, analytics and AI organisations made 13 proposals, while healthcare-related companies made 12 offers.
