Delhi University to introduce Science of Happiness course in women colleges

Delhi University (DU) has taken a step towards encouraging mental health by offering a course on the Science of Happiness. This initiative is intended to highlight the importance of happiness in the lives of students.
The Rekhi Foundation for Happiness signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Delhi University and five of its affiliated colleges to establish the 'Rekhi Centre of Excellence for the Science of Happiness'.
At the signing event, Vice Chancellor Professor Yogesh Singh stressed the importance of pleasure in life. Recognising this, Delhi University has chosen to incorporate the Science of Happiness course into its degree offerings across departments and colleges.
The curriculum for the course will be developed by the Rekhi Foundation for Happiness and then shared with DU for adaption to the academic framework there. Initially, the course will be taught as an optional subject, with plans to gradually incorporate it into major and minor courses.
According to the MoU, Dr Satinder Singh Rekhi and Rekhi Foundation faculty will serve as Honorary Expert Faculty at DU and its affiliated colleges. Faculty members interested in teaching the course will receive training from the Rekhi Foundation to ensure the effective delivery of the curriculum.
The introduction of the Science of Happiness course underscores DU's dedication to holistic education and student well-being, and it is a key step towards creating a good learning environment.
