CAT 2023 Sees 88% Of Aspirants Show Up, With Over 2.8 Lakh Candidates

About 2.88 lakh applicants took the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2023 exam on Sunday, November 26. IIM Lucknow released data showing that attendance was roughly 88% as opposed to 86% the previous year. With 3.3 lakh registrations, this year saw the largest number ever recorded by CAT. 2.22 lakh applicants took the test in the previous year, compared to 2.56 lakh who registered.
Across 167 Indian locations, 375 test centers hosted the CAT 2023 exam, according to a release from IIM Lucknow.
There were three sections and 66 questions on the CAT 2023 question paper. Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) made up section 1, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) made up section 2, and Quantitative Ability made up section 3.
While VARC sections contained 24 questions, DIRL and QA sections had 20 and 22 questions respectively. The time allotted for each section was 40 minutes for all the candidates and 53 minutes and 20 seconds for PWD candidates.
